Wherever the art of medicine is there is also the love of humanity. No doctor could love his patients more then Philip Lartey. There are really only two types of Psychiatrists - those who practice with their tongue & those who practice with their heart. Dr. Lartey practices with his heart. Psychiatry isn’t his job or career, it’s his calling. He inspires hope in oneself & the belief there is hope for tomorrow. My life was disseminated through no fault of my own. I had gone to a myriad of doctors, who treated me as a case. I’m fairly certain whom ever darkened their door received the same regurgitated diagnosis & how with intensive treatment, could be fixed and able to resume normal life. Then I met Dr. Lartey; I wasn’t a textbook case, I was human, I was an individual, I was Cheryl and I was hurting. His words of compassion and encouragement helped to shift my energy in a new direction of optimism rather than confusion or despair. Without Dr. Philip Lartey, I would not be here.
