Before moving here, I went to a pediatrician at our last duty station about some health concerns regarding my then newborn son (7m) and was treated like a hysterical scared new mom (even though I had just had a daughter 11 months prior so I wasn’t a ‘green’ mom), patted on the head, and sent ok my way. We then moved here and again I sought out TWO other doctors, voicing my concerns and AGAIN treated like I was hysterical, with one suggesting I was ‘maybe looking for something to be wrong’. I was angry and SHOCKED that doctors either had an answer already in their minds before seeing him or that they completely disregarded my concerns. Then I found Dr. Ward, the FOURTH doctor (3rd alone in Georgia) and the ONLY ONE who took me seriously! For my first visit she spent close to 90 min with us, answering EVERY question I had (I had A LOT) in great detail and in a way that I understood. She treated me life a mother, not another case, if I had a choice I would stay here just for her!
