Dr. Mazal is not only a skilled interventional radiologist, he is a phenomenal communicator and a compassionate care provider. I had been battling fibroids for years, leading to dangerously low hemoglobin and a blood transfusion in late 2024. No one ever mentioned UFE as an option, until I spoke with Yvonne Slotkin, the incredible Patient Liaison at Charleston Radiologists. She connected me with Dr. Mazal, and I finally felt heard.Dr. Mazal explained the UFE procedure via the wrist in a calm, thorough way that gave me peace and confidence. I canceled my scheduled D&C and went forward with the embolization. The care I received from him and the medical team at Summerville was outstanding. It's early, but I already feel this was the right decision. Women deserve to know about this option, and Dr. Mazal is the one you want leading that conversation.
