I left the care of Dr.Roark 19 years ago. I was in her care for 11 years. I was diagnosed with PTSD and with a severe eating disorder. In the 11 years that I was with Dr. Roark I was hospitalized 3 times locally and 2 times in Atlantia. All five times she worked diligently to find the very best care for me. Our work together was difficult. Dr. Roark would remind me that bad feelings were just bad feelings and that they would pass. These words were words of truth for me. Dr. Roark required me to participate 100 percent in getting better. She was a no nonsense doctor that held me to my commitment. If you were there she was there 100 percent. Since leaving Dr. Roark 19 years ago I have had no eating disorder problems or hospitalizations. I have lived in Texas, Japan and South Carolina. The skills Dr. Roark taught me has stayed with me everyday. I am thankful for Dr.Roark for our years of work together. I am thankful for Dr. Roark as a caring, generous, devoted, and trustworthy person.
