I have been Dr. Kao's patient since 1995. He took care of me when I had difficulty finding another Gyn Oncologist to treat my rare cancer. He has been thorough, patient, kind. I have had a great outcome compared to other patients around the world with the same cancer that have not fared as well. I never minded waiting a little longer for my appointment because I knew he was with a patient that needed a little more of his time. I was that kind of patient once. I feel he has always given me enough time and has explained treatment protocols well. He has retired this year but is still teaching. I will miss him and will always be grateful for him.

- Dr. Ming-Shian Kao specializes in gynecologic oncology. He treats patients with gynecologic malignancies and performs complex female pelvic surgery. He is interested in research into the development of new therapeutic modality for gynecologic oncology. Dr. Kao is a professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women&rsquos Health, Section of Gynecologic Oncology, at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology. Dr. Kao founded a gynecologic oncology subspecialty training program in Taiwan, where he established a medical school. When he is not teaching or caring for patients, Dr. Kao travels the world. He is fluent in Chinese, Taiwanese and Japanese.
