About Me

Care Philosophy
  • The big thing on my part is education It s explaining things that other physicians have not had the time to do Education takes time It s not an efficient process And when you ve had all the tests done and they re all negative And you ve been given a diagnosis of a functional bowel disease like irritable bowel syndrome and then just told to live with it or deal with it it s very difficult for patients particularly since there s no diagnostic test that shows you have that You have to buy into that diagnosis based on the physicians statement of such And without any background it s a black box and patients don t understand it So to me it s all about education making sure they understand why they have symptoms where those symptoms come from and once patients sort of own the disease and understand it I find that then they re more willing to work with it the symptoms aren t as scary they re not as effecting of their quality of life I think they understand then how the medications might work Some medications that don t work so well when you don t understand the disease state do work a little better when you do So it s all about communication It s about education It s about self management It s about collaboration I m not an authoritative type physician I don t dictate care It really has to be a collaboration with me

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams.
