About Me

Care Philosophy
  • My specialty involves degenerative spine conditions, spine trauma, spine deformity, but also spine oncology. The most common reason that people come into a spine surgeon is for arthritis or degenerative spine conditions in their back or neck. Surgery, in my eyes, is a last resort. I really feel strongly that conservative treatments, such as physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medication, or even injections should be pursued to their fullest extent before we endeavor upon surgery. There's a lot of different types of spine tumors. Some of them are cancerous tumors that need a multimodal approach involving possibly chemotherapy, possibly radiation therapy, and maybe even surgery. But I think many patients are surprised when I tell them that their tumor may, in fact, not be cancerous and may be a benign tumor that can be observed or treated in a more minimally invasive way.
