I had been misdiagnosed by another hospital system in Mississippi and my health was deteriorating daily. My daughter drove me to Ochsner New Orleans and we were shocked how quickly we were seen in the emergency room and admitted within a few hours. After an empathetic conversation and uplifting words to cheer me up, he sorted through a lot of testing and found it wasn’t a stomach problem but something that took everyone by surprise. He ordered one last simple test that any of my previous doctors could have already ordered and nailed it. A few days later I was discharged and I began treatment with a specialist at Slidell Ochsner that was a little closer who told me I could have died had he not thought to order that one last simple test. Four months later I have my life back, looking and feeling better, off oxygen and walker and almost back to normal. I feel so thankful and blessed my daughter drug me to a second opinion and Dr Bergstedt was my doctor that night. I’m forever grateful.
