I had to get an emergency microdiscectomy from a ruptured disc that left me in debilitating pain for several weeks. I talked to several surgeons and doctors. Dr. MacDougall was the only one who both acted with a sense of urgency based on the care I needed (rather than prioritizing insurance processes) and explained what was going on and needed to be done so that I could understand, engage, and make the best decisions for myself. He empowered me when I was at my most vulnerable. On top of that, I am 6 months post surgery and am fully recovered including some bad nerve damage. I’m fearful to think where I’d be today without the patient, thoughtful, and wise support of Dr. MacDougall. He’s a true care giver.
