Patient Reviews
Aug 06, 2021
After years of trying to help my daughter with severe anxiety/OCD and depression, we sought out Dr Brown on the advice of our pediatric psychiatrist at the time. Dr. Brown is completely different from any psychiatrist we have worked with before: -he spends a lot of time talking to the patient and really delves into their physical and emotional issues; -he considers non-traditional, holistic approaches, especially in the use of supplements and natural remedies for brain health; -he clearly explains why certain treatments, medications, or supplements help affect the brain. No one had ever explained this stuff to us before! -he is willing to talk out new approaches with us and is consistently available and responsive. I rarely wait more than a few hours for a response from him (by secure email).

About Me

Care Philosophy
  • Dr. Brown practices whole person psychiatry.

This approach starts with the principle that the body can heal itself when properly balanced. Dr. Brown emphasizes the things that are helpful for both physical well-being as well as mental heath: Sleep, Diet, Exercise, Mindful/Spiritual Practice and cultivating positive relationships.

Dr. Brown provides medication management, but also recommends dietary changes and supplements to work in conjunction with medicine to minimize how much medication one needs.

The less medication the better as long as one is doing OK.

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams.
