Dr. Akin has treated OB/GYN/Infertility patients in Central Texas for over 25 years and is one of the most respected physicians in the community. Through his leadership at Seton Medical Center, preventable birth injuries were reduced to zero. He is the only physician in Austin performing non-invasive uterine fibroid treatments with MRgFUS, and was the first surgeon to perform hysteroscopic Essure and Adiana female in-office sterilizations, as well as single incision laparoscopic hysterectomies. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. He is also a member of the Texas Association of Obstetrics & Gynecology and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.
