Dr. Sanna is my primary care physician who specializes in Geriatrics. I’ve been seeing her for about two years. When I have a question or a problem, she listens to me and is very understanding. However, I found out recently that she is on maternity leave and won’t be back until July 2024, and there are NO other geriatric doctors in the area I live in. Dr. Sanna is 46 years old and she told me a while ago that she has two children. She probably wanted some more children anyway, but now I don’t have a geriatric doctor, and the other UCLA doctors in my area, don’t specialize in geriatrics, and they are covering for her until she returns. Why doesn’t UCLA have additional GERIATRIC doctors covering for her instead of regular doctors? Every time I see a UCLA doctor, UCLA charges my insurance company approximately $700 to $900 for a 20 to 30 minute visit. UCLA is bleeding my insurance company! This is NOT fair! I need a Geriatric doctor. Thank you!
