  • Dr Madhavi Nagilla is a hospitalist at Cancer Treatment Centers of America CTCA Chicago In this role she is a primary care physician for patients admitted for overnight care during treatment at CTCA She helps coordinate inpatients general care and sees that their medical needs are continually met Dr Nagilla has found that CTCA s philosophy of cancer care matches her own CTCA is a truly patient centered cancer hospital Everybody strives to do what is best for the patient and there is very good communication amongst all team members She emphasizes that mutual trust is essential I believe in a holistic approach towards patient care A physician should understand the personal priorities of the patient in order to effectively treat the disease After graduating among the top five percent of her medical school class Dr Nagilla fulfilled her residency at St Joseph Hospital in Chicago While there she worked in various areas including neurology nephrology pulmonary critical care medicine and palliative care Dr Nagilla is a member of the Medical Council of India and American College of Physicians In 2011 she was a research assistant at the University of Chicago where she was involved in thyroid cancer research When Dr Nagilla isn t working she enjoys spending time with her young child traveling and experiencing new cultures
