About Me
Care Philosophy

I think we have the best of both worlds. We have cutting-edge technology. We have research clinical trials that are available around the nation, but all delivered close to home. We have excellent radiation, excellent surgeons. Really, Hot Springs is very unique in that it has an amazing medical system for a small town and we are able to deliver really good care without sending people out.
Hematology Oncology is diverse. Every patient is different. It is never boring, always interesting. We have lots of new treatments and they change by the day, sometimes by the week. We are getting away from all the old IV chemotherapies with all the toxic side effects that we're used to thinking of. Chemotherapy in this day and age means medical therapy. That's what I'm in charge of. That could include manipulating hormones, immune therapies--boosting the immune system and the immune system does the cancer fighting. We still do traditional chemotherapies when those have a role. But it's really changing and getting away from what you normally think of as cancer-care.
