Dr. Luke Macyszyn is an Assistant Professor in UCLA and a member of the Comprehensive Spine Center in Santa Monica. He is a neurosurgeon that specializes in the surgical treatment of complex spinal disorders with an emphasis on the correction of spinal deformities in adolescents and adults. Dr. Macyszyn uses state of the art technologies to improve patient outcome and maximize the safety of surgery.

Dr. Macyszyn received his undergraduate degree in Biology and Psychology from Cornell University. He subsequently earned his medical degree from Boston University where he graduated with AOA honors. Dr. Macyszyn completed his neurosurgical training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

During his residency, Dr. Macyszyn completed a research fellowship in biomedical image analysis where he studied how advanced imaging can help diagnose and guide treatment of various neurological disorders. He was awarded grant funding for his research and his work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Macyszyn also completed a clinical fellowship in spinal deformity surgery at the Shriners Hospital of Philadelphia. He is experienced in treating complex spinal deformities using traditional and cutting edge minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Macyszyn is a dedicated educator and the author of several book chapters in neurological surgery.
