There are two basic sides to medicine. First there is 'Judgement'. Knowing what to treat, Why and When you should treat it. Second are the skills required to preform what needs to be done, ie biopsies and surgery etc... I have found Dr Deters to be the 'Best' in both categories. Solid judgment, excellent surgical skills. No Pads or diapers 3 weeks post op and full sexual function. I would rank him at the very top of his field. In addition, he is kind with a great sense of humor. TJ

About Me

Care Philosophy

I believe that effective patient care starts with patient education and making sure they understand their condition. To me this means breaking down the medical terminology, and reviewing results and X rays with the patients in the clinic. Following this, helping my patients understand the options available to them. If treatment is necessary, helping explain the pros and cons of each. Finally, helping the patient come to a decision that is in line with their personal preferences and values. In the cases of more complex illnesses, having the patient meet with a multidisciplinary team is often necessary.

Once determining if treatment is necessary, then helping the patient prepare for the procedure, whether it be emotionally and or physically. I also want to be able to offer the most minimally invasive procedure while still getting the best results we can. If the treatment is something I do not offer, I work on the referral to the best provider match for the patient.
