About Me

Care Philosophy
  • Dr. Matthew Furst received his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and he completed a pediatric residency at the St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. He then went on to receive a pediatric cardiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital in Ohio. During his residency, Dr. Furst developed an instrument that showed a statistically significant increase in detection of high blood pressure and created an algorithm for use after detection to ensure referral to the cardiology or nephrology departments. Since then, Dr. Furst has published an article on the evolution of sports participation guidelines and the influence of genotype-phenotype correlation in Long QT Syndrome. He has also studied the use of electrocardiography, the basic screening tool for the detection of LQTS.
