Dr. Cohen was my pediatrician most of my childhood, from around 1986 until 2001. During a check-up at the age of 3, he recognized a hard spot on my side, quickly identified it as a tumor, and had me sent immediately to Children's Hospital, where it was removed. It turned out to be a Wilms tumor, a form of cancer that's particularly aggressive in its later stages. It's because of Dr. Cohen's astute diagnosis that I'm alive today, almost 40 years later. I continued to see Dr. Cohen until I graduated high school. I found him very personable, and knowledgeable, particularly as I got older, and never once doubted his medical expertise. To me, he's the embodiment of what a good doctor should be.
