  • Dr. Laurie Kuestner, a vascular surgeon and marathon runner, specializes in the care and treatment of the body's circulatory system. Dr. Kuestner holds an undergraduate degree from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne and a medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. She then completed a surgical internship and residency at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, and a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of California - San Francisco. Dr. Kuestner's academic training was followed by a surgical teaching appointment at the Harvard Medical School, where she also supervised the training of residents at two Boston-area hospitals. Dr. Kuestner is board certified in vascular surgery. She currently sees outpatients at Iowa Heart Center's West University clinic in West Des Moines, and operates at Mercy Medical Center - Des Moines.
