My breast surgeon, Dr. Amy Polverini, explained to me that my DCIS was extremely difficult to make out in my mammogram, and if not for the sharp eye of the radiologist, it might not have been detected at all. Dr. Tegulapalle was that radiologist, and she also performed my needle biopsy and wire placement prior to my lumpectomy. If I see her again, I will thank her in person. I am forever grateful to her and her team at Huntington-Hill Randall Breast Center! They are the finest!
