Patient Reviews

Fortunately, I met Dr. Unger in 1979 when I was brought to his clinic in the internal medicine building at the medical center of Houston with shortness of breathing and wheezing. He welcomed me, offered me a cup of tea, and listened to me for more than an hour while I was narrating my life story with allergy, colds, influenza and all asthma-related symptoms. He, then, prescribed me three medicines; theodor (theophilline 300), terbutaline, and an inhaler that I don't remember, but it was not ventoline. Later, I met him a couple of times, but I couldn't stand living in such a polluted city and left it for good in the following year. I have consulted so many pulmonologists since then, inside and outside of the U.S. but I have never met and presumably will never see a doctor like him in terms of decency, knowledge, and professional ethics. So, thank you very much, doctor Unger. You gave me a hope in life and a reason to live therefor.

Board Certifications
What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
