Dr Birnbaum was my attending as an inpatient on G2P and H2. I found him extremely caring and his decisions very well-reasoned, even when I didn't always like them. Once I was having a particularly rough day on H2 and he asked how he could help. I said that I missed people and "normal" social interactions, and he stayed for an extra half hour just to exchange some light-hearted banter.
