About Me

Care Philosophy
  • Hi, I am Dr Jose Hernandez-Rivera. I am a Clinical Assistant Professor at UF Health's Congenital Heart Center. I joined the department in October 2019 and practice in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. I received my Medical Degree from the Universidad Dr Jose Delgado Matias Delgado in El Salvador. Following medical school, I completed my residency training in General Pediatrics at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York where I was honored to receive the Resident of the Year Award and served as Chief Resident. Following this residency, I continued on to Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, Florida to complete a fellowship in both Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care.
