I have Cerebral Palsy but can walk without assistance. Hopital policy requires no slip socks. Because of how I walk Those socks got tangled in the blankets, made me stumble because I drag my feet. I carefully explained this to nursing staff and was ignored. Because I got tangled inthe bedding I wet myself. As a disabled person I felt ignored. Dr. Oyakhire listened to me and believed what I was saying when I felt others didn't. Dr. Oyakhire talked to nursing staff. Came back immediately to let me know I could wear my regular socks. After that I had no problems making it to the bathroom on my own when the kidney stone issue would suddenly cause me to urgently go to the bathroom. Dr. Oyakhire also took the time to talk to me and answer question when frequently I am ignored, belittled and treated as if having Cerebral Palsy has somehow made me less intelligent. Dr. Oyakhire did not. His was incredible. Sounds silly but I was in awe of how wonderful he was. I wish he could be my regular GP.
