I was referred to Dr.Mathis six years ago for Auto Immune Hepatitis. It evolved after I was diagnosed with "Drug Induced Hepatitis " following treatment of a lung infection with powerful antibiotics. Large doses of prednisone were prescribed in an effort to slow the liver damage, lowering the ASTand ALT levels. I was terribly swollen and very sick. Dr. Mathis prescribed diuretics to rid my body of the edema, and Imuran to treat the now diagnosed Auto Immune Hepatitis. It took over three years for my liver to heal. I must continue the medications but my life is back to normal. I am very thankful for Dr.Mathis and his compassionate care.
