  • Educated at Yale and Johns Hopkins, I have spent >30 years practicing and teaching Vascular Surgery. I have lectured all over the world and published >250 articles on all aspects of Vascular disease. I have served as President of multiple Vascular Organizations and have as a Senior Director of the American Board of Surgery and Chair their Board of Vascular Surgery. This organizations examines and certifies the competence of Vascular Surgeons. I have spent my entire career in University hospitals where I have trained >45 vascular surgeons. I am internationally known for my expertise in carotid surgery for stroke prevention. While i have extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of aneurysms and peripheral arterial disease (``PAD``), my current areas of interest are carotid surgery for stroke prevention, the diagnosis and management of venous conditions and the management of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.M y current practice is focused on the diagnosis and management of complex vascular problems. I emphasize a comprehensive approach, effective patient communication and education with joint decision making.
