I am a 70 year old woman residing in Indiana who has fought MAC lung disease for ten years. I was referred to Dr. Mitchell for a lingulectomy in August due to a large cavity that would not close with meds. I just want to reassure anyone facing this surgery that you could not be in better hands than with Dr. Mitchell and Anschutz hospital. This new robotic surgery he does is a game changer. I had two rough days, not terrible, after surgery but was still able to sleep well. Then I went back to the residence hotel on the third day. I was puttering around the kitchen, sitting in the courtyard, taking care of my personal hygene and sleeping like a baby from then on. We had planned to stay a month but only stayed two weeks as I was well ready for the drive home. Dr. Mitchell was "brains on wheels" with a huge amount of bedside manner to boot. His post op plan for pain and activity is flawless and the hospital follows it to the letter. I can't recommend this wonderful doctor enough.
