Bio
Dr. James Januzzi is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and the Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital.  After graduating as the top-ranked student in his medical school class, Dr. Januzzi did his residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, then a fellowship in Cardiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital, both in Boston.  Subsequently to training, Dr. Januzzi joined the staff at Mass General in 2000.  He is a very active teacher and researcher, participating in local, national, and international cardiology meetings, serving on practice guideline committees, and serving on numerous editorial boards for top medical journals.  He has published more than 200 manuscripts and book chapters, and has edited two textbooks.   His research contributions have had major impact on practice world wide.  He is a very active clinician, with a special clinical focus on acute and chronic coronary disease as well as heart failure, and also serves as the Cardiology Consultant for the Boston Red Sox baseball team since 2004.
