I originally saw doctor Loyola to have my wisdom teeth taken out. I had a top tooth that was starting to descend because I blindly agreed to having the one underneath it pulled by a different dentist. I was left traumatized when that happened. The previous dentist did it while I was awake and it was a horrible experience. Then I ended up with dry socket after. I turned doctor Loyola after he was recommended to me to have the rest taken out. He was able to get me in quickly and did a fantastic job. This was a much better experience. I was virtually painless and no dry socket this time! Not long after that I had a root canal that ended up getting infected and I needed to have the tooth removed and an implant placed. I returned to Dr. Loyola's office in some serious pain. They were able to get me in immediately. He removed the tooth and in 4 months placed the implant. It came out great. No complaints. - James A. Loyola, DMD is a practicing Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Loyola graduated from University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine in 1979 and has been in practice for 39 years. He completed a residency at Universidad de Puerto Rico.Dr. Loyola has been practicing Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the New Orleans and surrounding area since 1985. The practice is based primarily on word of mouth as we have many satisfied patients who refer friends, family and their children.As in many Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practices we extract many third molars (wisdom teeth). The majority are done with intravenous sedation making it a pleasant experience. We want our patients to feel they were treated properly.We place many dental implants. They may be single implants for crowns or multiple implants for complete dental reconstruction, or for an overdenture. Many people need bone grafting prior to receiving implants. Many different types of bone grafting procedures are done here.Cone beam CT technology is being used here in our office. It allows the most accurate treatment planning and execution of implant and bone grafting surgery. It is also very useful for facial trauma, TMJ, and pathology cases. All images are shown on HD television which magnifies them so we can show our patients what we are seeing.
