Bio

Islon Z. Woolf, M.D., FACP, is an internal medicine physician with a special interest in wellness and prevention and a member of Baptist Health Medical Group, an organization of more than 180 physicians in multiple specialties closely aligned with Baptist Health South Florida. Dr. Woolf graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School and completed his internship in internal medicine at the University of Southern California. He also completed a residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine and was chief resident at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Woolf is an assistant clinical professor of medicine at Florida International University's Herbert Wertheim School of Medicine. He has expertise in treating diseases of metabolism and endocrinology, including diabetes, obesity, thyroid disorders and cholesterol management. In addition to traditional medicine, he helps patients develop a healthy lifestyle through nutritional counseling and an individualized exercise program. Dr. Woolf is a frequent guest on local and national television. He has presented at medical conferences, including the American College of Physicians' annual associates meeting, and has contributed to books on alternative treatments and athletic conditioning and injuries. He is Board-certified in internal medicine.
