My mother had a WONDERFUL experience with Dr. Gottfried. She is an 89 yo woman in very bad health, and was taking her shower and noticed rectal bleeding. She is also on a blood thinner for atrial fib - we thought the blood thinner was probably the cause. It turned out she had multiple polyps and some suspicious cells that may have revealed a malignancy. I never met him, but my sister reported that she thought that he was great and VERY kind and personable. And they were very available for follow up immediately after her discharge from the hospital.
