Dr Kang was my previous gastroenterologist, but his location office changed. I tried working with a different doctor in my condition worsened. Dr. Kang listens to his patients and he's very thorough with his treatment plan.

About Me

Care Philosophy

  • Dr. Hyon S. Kang is a Board Certified Internist subspecializing in Gastroenterology. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Virginia under world renowned subspecialists focusing on digestive health problems with emphasis on pancreas, liver, and therapeutic procedures. He is an expert on ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) to resolve issues related to gallstones, chronic pancreatitis, and other bile duct problems. He has successfully completed over 300 ERCPs since being in El Paso. Coordinating with surgeons and radiologists, Dr. Kang has performed numerous complicated procedures to include laparoscopic assisted ERCP. As a patient himself, Dr. Kang s highest priority is to treat each and every patient with respect and dignity. For patient convenience, Dr. Kang will perform both endoscopy and colonoscopy on the same date. Dr. Kang is a strong advocate of minimizing health care costs and is committed not to perform unnecessary procedures. Since September 2012, he has proudly joined Dr. Vinay Patel, M.D.
