Care Philosophy

Empowering families with knowledge is my main philosophy.
My primary goal is to use my clinical knowledge to teach my patient's families about their loved one's disease, and to help guide them through the care process. When a patient is sick, I want his or her family to know as much as I know about their disease and what's happening if they are open to knowing, and I want them to feel part of the decision making team and to not feel like they are in the dark or that their voice is not heard. This philosophy was not only part of my training, but also my personal experience as I have been that family member with a sick loved one before. I understand the frustration that comes with not having all of your questions answered and your concerns addressed.
