About Me

Care Philosophy
  • As with many academic surgeons, Dr. Rushing has a passion for education. He is active in medical student, resident and continuing medical education through the Department of Surgery at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. In addition, he is Associate Program Director for the ACGME Thoracic Surgery Residency at UH Cleveland Medical Center. Dr. Rushing particularly enjoys working with the pre-clinical medical students in the Summer Scholars Program, which seeks to encourage medical students to pursue careers in cardiothoracic surgery.

    Dr. Rushing is an active member of the Association of Academic Surgeons, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and Southern Thoracic Surgical Association.
