After a couple years the arthritis in my thumb joint had become more painful and constant so I made an appointment with Dr. Raia. Including the x-ray and treatment with a cortisone shot in the same appointment, I was in and out of the office in about 40 minutes. Dr. Raia discussed all my options with me and also gave me some good tips about the way I use my hand as far as tools that are better for grip to not exacerbate the arthritis pain any more than necessary. He also recommended I sleep with a 'Comfort' hand and thumb wrap type brace which will help. Dr. Raia told me to come back any time I feel I might need another shot. He said my hand would feel better in a couple days, but it's the next day and it already feels a lot better. Very satisfied with Dr. Raia and the Core Institute.
