After injuring her shoulder playing volleyball, Dr. Darr became interested in Sports Medicine. She chose physiatry because it better served her active lifestyle. Physiatrists "restore function" non operatively to a wide range of patients which allows Dr. Darr to not only help young athletes return to play, but also the elderly who want to be able to grocery shop without pain.
After graduating from the Medical University of South Carolina she went on to work in MUSC's Orthopaedic Surgery and Physical Medicine department for 10 years, before transitioning to South Carolina Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Center where she likes, "the small cohesive group that has grown into an all-encompassing orthopedic care center with an excellent PT group, MRI capabilities, and all over team approach to patient care."
