I had cataracts in both eyes and put it off as long as I could. I admit I was afraid and had problems with surgeries in the past. he was excellent ! I said I wanted the best surgeon and I know now that I did. How do you thank someone for your vision? This is a small way to say thank you

About Me

Care Philosophy
  • We combine state of the art testing with precision surgery and always lead with compassion.

Our patients are treated like family. Instead of using an answering service, Dr. Yavitz gives every patient 24/7 access to his personal cell phone. We don't overschedule so typical waiting room times are less than 15 minutes.

Dr. Yavitz has been inventing techniques and equipment since his days at Harvard Medical School and now has 37 patents with new ones pending.

Unlike almost every other eye surgeon in Rockford, he lives here, not in Madison or Chicago, and has committed time and philanthropy to Rockford. Over the years he has served on the Board of Directors of Keith School, the Catholic Family, Protestant and Jewish Community Services Boards as well as the Rockford symphony board.

He has two grown sons and one grandchild.
