- My philosophy as a doctor is to be an educator for my patients so that they can manage their disease as well as I can manage their disease. I am not with them 24/7, so patients need to take some active role in their health care. If they are involved in the decision-making, then they tend to follow through with the recommendations that we give, and the outcome tends to be better.
