After 40 years, I’m free from wearing prescription glasses & contacts & I have 20/20 perfect vision! Thank you Dr. Diana Reiko Shib from Kaiser LAMC/Sunset, who was my cataract surgeon. During my initial visit with Dr. Shiba, she determined that my eyesight could no longer be corrected with a change in glasses or contacts. She explained to me in detail the risks & benefits of having cataract surgery; the types of IOL available: Monofocal vs. Multifocal. I opted for the multifocal IOL because I hate wearing glasses. She did stress that there may still be a small possibility that I may need reading glasses after the surgery. Before & during the surgery, Dr. Shiba took me step by step and kept me informed throughout the surgery. It took about 15 minutes & it was painless. I did not feel any discomfort during or after the surgery. Dr. Shiba is not only highly skilled, professional & knowledgeable, she also cares for her patients. Thank you so much Dr. Shiba!
