Patient Reviews

I was born with a dysfunctional right eustation tube. Chronic ear infections led to a tonsillectomy & adenoidectomy at age 4. My eardrum was lanced several times in my teens. Then over the next 50 years, I received at least 12 myringotomy tubes. By age 67 my eardrum was so thin, tubes extruded within a year. At least 6 different types were tried. My ENT referred me to Dr. Poe. Dr. Poe's initial examination was extremely thorough, including a nasopharyngoscopy, and CAT scan. In the follow-on surgery, he performed a balloon dilation and cleared a lifelong bony obstruction. His 6-month post-op regimen included nasal spray, ear drops and antihistamines. Remarkably, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE, I was able to 'pop' my ear!! I told Dr. Poe and his wonderful PA Gail, that I was certain I would go to my grave with this defect. Three years later my eustation tube functions perfectly. I cannot believe it. The procedure was a complete success. 1000 characters here are too limiting for my thanks
