This was the early hours of 9-24-23 The ER was clearly short on beds at Baylor Mckinney and short on staff, The doctor began rotating into the waiting area to attempt to assist with more patient issues and waiting. After I got an ultrasound and a room she quickly noted that my gallbladder was thick and would likely need to be removed due to infection caused by a blockage. After consulting with the surgeon on duty and reviewing the imaging as well he agreed, that she was witty, kind, compassionate, and professional and that says a lot when working in the ER environment I could tell she was tired and worn thin but she handled it with poise and professionalism. I was frustrated with how much time I spent overall waiting to be seen but that is just the unfortunate byproduct of American privatized healthcare for profit, not at all a reflection of the doctor who cared for me.
