I (unknowingly) had a bucket handle meniscus tear. Two days earlier, from my visit with Dr. Margolis, I tore it and thought I dislocated my kneecap. The pain was excruciating. I went to the ER near my house and had the WORST experience with the doctor there who insinuated that I was being dramatic and had no idea that I had a meniscus tear. The next morning was a saturday and needed better care and pain relief. I went to urgent care and Dr Margolis knew this was a meniscus tear (in her mind) without even needing MRI imaging which couldn't be done on a saturday. She knew my leg needed to be straightened and emergency surgery was on the horizon due to potential loss of blood flow to meniscus. She injected numbing medication and attempted to straighten and after multiple attempts at very slow movements and progress, she got it straight enough to apply a full leg brace and pain relief. I subsequently got with an orthopedic and was so grateful for her kind treatment and not dismissing me.
