I came to Dr. Davis over three years ago as a last resort to suicide. I'd been in and out of therapy my whole life but had never felt "seen" by any of the clinicians, who tended to see me through the lens of my diagnoses (OCD, depression) rather than as a person. My first session is a bit of a blur to me– I was suffering from insomnia at the time– but I remember that Dr. Davis treated me with respect and kindness. He interviewed me for a full hour before prescribing a sleeping aid. The night I took his prescription was the first time in five months I slept more than three hours, and when I woke up the next morning, I felt rejuvenated. After a few more sessions of getting to know him as a human being and a doctor, I knew I had found the right person to help me heal. With his sharp wit, warmth, and intolerance for client BS, Dr. Davis has helped me tackle and overcome behaviors I believed I could never live without. I cannot recommend him enough.

Care Philosophy

I do my best to give my patients the best of care. I have a solo practice so you only talk to me if there is a problem after hours. I believe that the psycho-therapeutic relationship is as equally important as medication. I have spent years in post-residency psychotherapy training so I have become skillful and very efficient in helping patients to get well quickly. Due to my expertise in psychotherapy, it is usually not necessary to see me for medication and another mental health profession for psychotherapy. In fact, many of my patients see me for exclusively for therapy and don't take any medication. I also try to get my patients off medication once they have resolved their conflicts, unless they have a mental illness that is primarily biological.
