Dr Sunwoo makes a treatment plan, taking everything about your medical history into consideration when discussing the plan. I had a spinal injection and PT 2 years ago and am now having a similar issue with nerve pain from my spinal stenosis. We are going to do PT first to hopefully avoid the injection. I like his willingness to discuss other options besides a procedure!

Care Philosophy

  • Dr. Sunwoo believes in conservative management whenever possible for patients. He is trained in interventional pain procedures that are useful for many cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine conditions. He likes to incorporate physical therapy as part of a treatment program. He believes physical therapy is not only useful for many conditions but also provides the education and training needed for patients once therapy is completed. Dr. Sunwoo works closely with his spine surgery colleagues. He is trained in diagnostic interventional procedures (pain mapping) and electrodiagnostic (EMG/NCV) testing. Both of which can offer useful information when trying to localize the etiology of a painful spine condition.
