Dr. Fung was great - As an older "age-group" athlete, I struggled with increasing ankle pain that disrupted my ability to run. After spending nearly a year seeking a diagnosis and incurring hours of PT, Dr. Fung quickly assessed what had to be done to determine the root cause of my pain. After Xray's and a series of discussions about the conditions associated with the acute pain, he suggested a non-invasive option that would be used to test a theory of underlying inflammation causing the problem. It proved to be a spot on assessment, which resulted in an immediate protocol to address the cause. In less than a month, I was back to full training, culminating with the completion of my 1st full Ironman triathlon less than 4 months later.

Daniel A. Fung, M.D. is double board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Interventional Pain Medicine. He specializes in non-surgical care for musculoskeletal, spinal and pain disorders. Dr. Fung began his studies at UC Berkeley where he graduated with a major in Biochemistry and minor in Business Administration. He then went on to earn his medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Fung completed his surgical internship at UCSD, residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UCLA, and fellowship training in Pain Medicine at the University of Southern California. Dr. Fung has specialized training in interventional spine and pain procedures including joint and soft tissue injections, epidural injections, radiofrequency ablation, nerve blocks, intradiscal treatments, neuromodulation, and intrathecal drug delivery. Dr. Fung is also trained in electrodiagnostic studies and intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring.
