Dr Gurba performed a knee replacement surgery for me just over a month ago and it is doing amazingly well. I give a lot of the credit to his what seems to me to be his extreme level of experience with this procedure. It went smoothly and as expected. He is very personable and upfront about answering whatever concerns I may have had. On top of all of that my surgery was at Kansas City Orthopedic Institute a private orthopedic only hospital. Dr Gurba doesn’t seem to believe in rushing patients out of the door after surgery which is too common these days. I spent 2 nights and 3 days as inpatient which turned out to be wonderful as TKR is a very major surgery. The hospital staff was amazing I had a RN of my own that was very attentive and there was no waiting for help. As I understand their goal is a 1 to 1 ratio patient to nurse as was my case. All private rooms also. So when the other knee needs work I will hopefully be able to return here and Dr Gurba.
