After finding out that Dr. CASTEEN had retired she was kind enough to refer me to California Retina Consultants on 5555 Business Park South, as a matter of fact she called the office manager there on a Sunday afternoon and relayed the critical info that I needed to be seen on Monday, No Excuses! I had a torn retina that needed attention immediately! She told me that if I didn’t hear from them by 10 am to call her and she would call them again to get me in. Well she didn’t have to because at 8:52 am they called and told me when I could come in. Now how many Doctors that are retired would do that for an old patient? I’m glad she has retired so now she is free to do whatever she wants, but I will be sad that if I need an ophthalmologist on a Saturday or Sunday night at 10 pm, she won’t answer the phone and tell me I’ll meet you at the office in 30 minutes ! Bakersfield has lost the finest Ophthalmologist that has ever served this community!
