I went to lexington Medical Center. I Wasn’t feeling well. They admitted me. DrJohnson I was on 7th floor. Dr Johnson was professional and caring with patients and staff. He is the kind of doctor that I would recommed to anyone. He is ASSET!!!!!

Daniel King MD PhD is a gastrointestinal medical oncologist at Monter Cancer Center and director of research and development for the Northwell Health Cancer Institute s Center for Genomic Medicine He prescribes chemotherapy and other medications to patients with cancer of the digestive tract from the esophagus and stomach to the colon rectum and anus with a sub specialty focus of pancreatic cancer Some of Dr King s research interests include circulating tumor DNA that can be found in the bloodstream to detect and monitor cancer and testing cancer medications on patient tumor samples in the laboratory Dr King has always had an interest in science A Long Island native while still in high school he participated in a competition at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory exploring the genetics of cancer He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine pursued a fellowship as a Howard Hughes Research Scholar at the National Institutes of Health and earned his doctorate at the Wellcome Sanger Genomic Institute at the University of Cambridge where he studied genomics of rare diseases He received residency training in internal medicine at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University and fellowship training in medical oncology at Stanford University Medical Center He works with pathologists radiologists geneticists surgical oncologists radiation oncologists and nutritionists to create personalized treatment plans Multidisciplinary care is especially important with pancreatic cancer because we often treat it with combinations of surgery radiation therapy and chemotherapy he says He is principal investigator of several pancreatic cancer clinical trials helping eligible patients access the latest approaches to care As an assistant professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra Northwell Dr King trains fellows with an interest in pancreatic cancer He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association of Cancer Research He conducts clinical research in partnership with Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory regularly publishes in peer reviewed research journals and is actively submitting research proposals to the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group Finding the right clinical trial for his patients is a satisfying part of his job I love providing my patients with the best possible care based on the latest discoveries he says
