Dr. Buckhout treated as my PCP at the Phoenix VA Hospital for a number of years. I always felt that he truly cared about me, took the time to listen to me, and gave me the appropriate treatment for my very complicated issues (paralyzed in a wheelchair since 1987 and all of the inevitable complications that entails, along with severe chronic pain). All too often providers at the VA seem more concerned with protecting their job and not doing anything to upset the politicos, to patients detriment.
