Dr. Monfared is knowledgeable, caring, and optimistic. He was just the surgeon I needed when the MRI came back showing I had a brain tumor. He formed a fantastic team with Dr. Richard Murray (neurosurgeon) to remove a large brain tumor (acoustic neuroma) in June 2021. This was a stressful time for me and my family. My ENT recommended Dr Monfared, who has researched and written extensively about just the the tumor I was dealing with. He's performed hundreds of similar surgeries, and we all felt better knowing that I had two of the top neurosurgeons in the country doing the surgery. Dr. Monfared explained all of my options, answered every question, and was able to schedule my surgery quickly, which I greatly appreciated. The surgery was very successful and I've recovered well. I highly recommend him. His staff was wonderful too and helped me communicate quickly with Dr. Monfared in between appointments.

Dr Monfared is also a professor of surgery and neurosurgery at the GW School of Medicine & Health Sciences. He completed his medical training, residency and fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center. Previously he has served as staff surgeon in Otolaryngology at Stanford University Hospital and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. He has had the distinct honor of serving at Veteran Administration Hospital and Walter Reed National Medical Center.
